That's hilarious. I can imagine the blinking. A vote is a brilliant idea! Maybe the blinking is like an evolved version of high school student sign language! I keep asking them if they understand but they just blink at me. One of my fellow teachers told me he has them vote and who ever doesn't put up their hand he assumes doesn't understand but when he questions them, they still just blink. Perhaps that is how they communicate. Hmmm...JoZinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04904287691049140268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881889234584131192.post-36533427060187038602010-02-25T13:15:45.556-08:002010-02-25T13:15:45.556-08:00You know, I feel the same way about half the high ...You know, I feel the same way about half the high school kids I talk to and a quarter of the teachers. My sister Christine didn't say anything coherent until the age of 3 and the school speech therapist thought she might have a delay. But by 5 she wouldn't shut up. Turns out she was just a little shy.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01505997050983201333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881889234584131192.post-32061046232516445172010-02-25T09:32:24.480-08:002010-02-25T09:32:24.480-08:00Julie, he will be 2 in May. But I also know of kids who were slow with talking and by 2.5 they were totally where they should be. Also he tells me "stories" and I don't know what they're about.

Jack- Coming from dad of three, this is very comforting. :). Thanks. I was beginning to think there was something wrong.
